Who Are We
Independent Countering Disinformation Centre (ICDC)
is a civil society platform that aims to enhance counter-disinformation efforts in the Republic of Moldova. ICDC was established in 2023 at the initiative of the Countering Disinformation in Moldova (CDM) project, implemented by the Institute for War and Peace Reporting (IWPR).
The Centre acts as a support structure for efforts to identify and counter externally driven attempts to influence the population of Moldova and undermine their democratic interests. ICDC brings together civil society actors, independent media outlets and academic institutions from different parts of the country so that they can find ways to strengthen Moldova’s ability to withstand disinformation. ICDC helps members work together to shape the information environment and build public resilience to manipulation.
